Campbell relations who have served in the U.S. Military

George Campbell served in the U.S. Army in Berlin during the occupation of Germany and Glenn Thompson, Matt’s maternal grandfather served in the 14th Armored Division, 501st Armored Field Artillery attached to the 45th Infantry Division. He drove an M-7 tank and was part of the B Battalion. All four of Glenn’s brothers served in the military as well.

Howard Campbell, George Campbell’s brother, served in the U.S. Navy on a destroyer in the Pacific Theater.

Matt’s uncle on his mother’s side, Doug Thompson, retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant, its highest enlisted rank, and was a telecommunications specialist. His service included assignments in Thailand during the Vietnam War; Offut Air Force base in Bellevue, Nebraska; Misawa Air Base in Misawa, Japan and Riyad, Saudi Arabia during the First Gulf War.
